About Vue du Château
Vue du Château is a small, welcoming chambres d’hôtes in the heart of Mareuil-en-Périgord, directly opposite the historic Château de Mareuil.
We offer relaxed, comfortable suites in a charming village house, with a personal approach to hospitality and a peaceful base for exploring the Dordogne.
Our aim is to create a stay that feels calm, friendly and easy — whether you are visiting for a short break, a longer holiday, a local event, or simply to enjoy village life in one of France’s most beautiful regions.
Our Facilities
Your stay includes a continental breakfast, with an optional cooked breakfast available on request.
We also offer room service options, pet-friendly stays by arrangement, laundry service, local information, restaurant booking help, public transport advice and concierge-style support during your stay.
Each suite is designed to be comfortable and private, with space to relax,en suite bathrooms,coffee facilities and modern touches while keeping the character of the house.
Your Hosts
Vue du Château is run by Simon and Kay, a husband and wife team who moved from the UK to begin a new chapter in the Dordogne.
We want guests to feel genuinely welcome and comfortable. We are happy to help with recommendations, directions, restaurants, local markets and day trips — or simply give you the space to enjoy your stay in your own way.
Our approach is personal, relaxed and practical: a comfortable stay, thoughtful details, and help when you need it.

Mareuil-en-Périgord is a friendly village with local shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and a weekly market, all within walking distance.
The village is surrounded by beautiful Dordogne countryside, riverside walks, historic villages, châteaux and places to explore.
Nearby places to visit include Brantôme, Périgueux, Angoulême and the wider Périgord region. We are always happy to recommend places based on your interests.

There are a variety of local attractions within easy reach of Mareuil-en-Périgord, offering everything from markets and food to outdoor activities and relaxing days out.
Vertillac offers a relaxed outdoor swimming pool during the summer months.
Villebois-Lavalette is a beautiful hilltop village known for its cafés, restaurants and covered market hall.
The Grand Étang de Saint-Estèphe, near Nontron, is a popular swimming lake with free access, parking and a café/bar on site.
Brantôme, often called the “Venice of the Périgord”, is ideal for canoeing and riverside walks.
Ribérac hosts one of the region’s best markets every Friday morning, offering local produce and a traditional French atmosphere.

Regional bus services connect Mareuil-en-Périgord with nearby towns including Brantôme, Périgueux, Angoulême and Ribérac.
Current routes include Line 310 between Périgueux and Angoulême, Line 311 between Mareuil and Périgueux, and Line 314 between Mareuil and Ribérac. Services vary by route and season, so guests are advised to check current timetables before travelling.
Parking is available close to the property, located opposite the château (approximately 100 metres). A local bus stop is also within easy walking distance.
